LEE WARNER

I teach drum lessons to students of all ages and skill levels, from beginner to advanced. I prepare students for drum line, big band jazz, Latin, tympani, mallets, rock and more. I teach weeknight evenings, and mid-days on Saturdays. I charge $25 for each half hour lesson.

In my teaching, most of my background is in rudimental drumming, jazz and classical. I encourage my students to be strong in their reading skills.

I'm a busy jobbing drummer, playing in several local bands, ranging from big bands to rock, blues, country and oldies bands.

I’ve been teaching private drum lessons since 1971, and I'm enjoying it more than I ever have! I've taught at Maytan's since 2000.

MAYTAN SOUL BAND

This 10-piece Tower of Power-style band includes live horns and a rhythm section. Since 2003, this group has performed at local schools. In high school and middle school jazz band workshops, student musicians play right alongside the adult members of the Maytan Soul Band, on songs by Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, the Average White Band and Tower of Power. In elementary schools, the Maytan Soul Band presents lively interactive half-hour concerts. Because of sponsorship by Maytan Music Center, all Maytan Soul Band shows and clinics are absolutely free to local schools. MAYTAN BIG BAND

This 17-piece big band plays elementary school concerts, and high school & middle school jazz band workshops. The Maytan Big Band plays music from the libraries of the orchestras of Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Benny Goodman and many others.
